Saturday was a big day for me... my first 5k! I was incredible nervous about it. I hadn't run in over a week and I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to finish, but I did and I had a lot of fun. Lucas, Dad and Mom all came to support me which was very encouraging. It was such a big moment for me and I was glad to be able to share that with them.

The race was definitely not a competitive one, but I wanted to run the entire way and thankfully I was able to do that for the most part. Running through the color was kind of difficult because people were stopping to take pictures and things, but I was still able to beat my goal of 40:00 minutes and finished around 38:00 minutes. (It wasn't timed so Lucas looked at the time when I started and when I crossed the finish line.)

The Color Run was a great first experience for me and I hope to run another race in the future. Unfortunately right now, my laziness has caught up with me and my weight is increasing. This weekend didn't help which I will post about soon. It's too much to include here, but let's just say it was amazing! Next week I am going to start Insanity. I may really be insane for this, but I am going to give it a go.
I would love to do a color run! It seems like so much fun but my joints are really bad. :(
ReplyDeleteI did something similar to the Color Run last summer and loved it...even though it made me look like a Smurf for a few days! :) Congratulations on your first 5K race! That's a big deal!!
